In 2015, we will launch programs that provide professional support for women looking to advance in their careers and financial support for women looking to start their own businesses.
Toklas Society Mentorship Program
The Toklas Society is proud to announce the launch of the Mentorship Program, starting in May of 2015.
The Toklas Society Mentorship Program seeks to empower women to forge their own path in the food and hospitality industries. The six month-long program hopes to give women the courage, resources, and experience to make a career change, start their own business, or get a promotion. By pairing each mentee with an esteemed mentor who has established herself in the industry, mentees will receive one-on-one attention and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
For the program’s inaugural year, Toklas Society will select 20 mentees.
We are excited to announce that Charlotte Druckman (journalist and author of SKIRT STEAK: Women Chefs on Standing the Heat & Staying in the Kitchen) will be the keynote speaker at our kick-off event for all mentors and mentees.
Applications are due Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Application fee is $35.
The program begins in early May 2015, and runs through late November 2015.
Mentees are expected attend a kick-off event and closing party as well as meet with their mentor at least once a month.
Applicants must be New York-based.
